“Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you really want junk like that in your belly?” Proverbs 18:8 (The Message) Nothing like reading the book of Proverbs in “The Message” version. I know some people have issues with this particular translation but I personally find it so much fun to read! However, if you want the more serious version, here you go: “The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the body.” (NASB)
