QUESTIONS ABOUT SHEENA
When did you start drawing? How did you learn to draw/Photoshop?
- I’ve been drawing since I was a kid (of course!) but I seriously considered really working hard for this around 2004-2005. It was self-taught, mostly learning from tutorials on the net, and a lot of practice!
Are you a Christian / Where do you go to church?
- Yes I am and I go to CCF (Christ’s Commission Fellowship)
Are you Chinese/Filipino/Korean?
- I am pure Chinese by blood (which means my parents and my ancestors are all Chinese, at least that’s what they tell me) but since I was born and raised in the Philippines, I’m Filipino by nationality. There’s a difference, people!
Follow me on Tumblr / Can I add you on Facebook?
- For Tumblr, I’m trying to limit the people I follow so I’m really sorry I won’t, unless you post original content that I super like/if I know you in real life. As for FB, I also only add those who I have met in real life! And I only use one account, my personal account, okay? I’m not famous so I don’t have a fan page which you can add. You have to wait for that. Haha! (I kid about the waiting part, obviously) :|

How do you make your drawings / Do you use Photoshop and a tablet?
- Please see this drawing for an illustrated explanation! I try my best to be creative! Hehe.
- I also hardly use my tablet: only for some minor details if necessary or handwriting (sometimes)
How do you do (insert whatever technique) in Photoshop? Teach me!
- This is one of the few questions that I really dislike seeing in my formspring ask box, so if you asked this and my answer has been anything but enthusiastic, I’m sorry. First of all, I couldn’t explain every single thing that I do in Photoshop to every single anonymous asker; it hard to do so through words and it would be very tedious and impractical. Next, I learned everything I know about Photoshop through online tutorials and practice and I suggest you do the same instead. Google has a LOT of Photoshop tutorials please don’t ask me for links. Don’t ask me about definitions of terms or whatever, because you can also easily google that. Don’t get me wrong, I like answering questions, but please don’t ask me objective questions that you can easily search on the net. I am not an answering machine. Lastly, come on, common sense; artists have special techniques and styles. It would be nice if we all had different styles and methods, right? Otherwise we’d all be doing the same kind of drawings and what’s so nice about that?
What font did you use in this particular photo/drawing?
- Secreeeet! Hehe! That’s the fun of fonts; you discover some pretty neat ones and it’s nice that people don’t know what font you’re using. So, I’m sorry I won’t answer if you ask me this, but please don’t take it personally! :)
How did you make your layout / put all those photos in your sidebar?
- I use the theme by Hunson and I simply edited the html part of it. I’m not very good at html, so I just search the net for tutorials when I need to place something and I suggest you do the same! :)
What’s the model of your camera? Do you edit you photos?
- Nikon D60 (he’s named “Asher”). Yes I edit my photos using Photoshop and Lightroom, but mostly only for cropping or brightening the colors. I fix my camera settings already the way I like it so that I don’t have to change the colors or do so much editing. Someone asked me once how I make my photos’ whites so white and the colors so vibrant and the answer is it’s all in the camera settings. And please don’t go about asking how I set my camera because it would be too tedious also to explain because I always always use the manual option only. :)
Where/how do you print your works?
- Similar to the question before this, this question can also get pretty repetitive and can be answered with common sense. I cannot give you the details of how I do what I do in my art. I can tell you that I have my drawings printed, but I cannot tell you where. If you are able to find a good supplier, then good for you. Please respect my stand on this. Do not demand information please. :)
