My decision to:
Accept Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.
Start freelancing and selling products using my illustrations.
Say “yes” to my (now) fiancé when he asked me if he could court me.
Thank you johnamandac for asking me this question. I rarely get questions in my ask box that really make me think about things in my life. This has reminded me again of how God has blessed me so much in so many ways and that all that I’ve achieved so far is really by His grace alone. My God is awesome forever and ever! ♥

On Photos & Cameras

sheenalovestotravel:

Been getting a lot of questions as to what camera I use. To answer simply, from 2009 up to the present (April 2011!) I’ve been using my Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm (kit) lens! All photos before that were taken using point-and-shoots only! Yup, including the Europe trip photos!

Haven’t upgraded my body or lens since then, not because I don’t want to but because it’s just hasn’t been a priority on my budget list (clue: the trips are high up on that list) Also, Asher has been serving me well so far! That being said, I’d still love to upgrade soon though to one of those DSLR’s with video.

Important note: Although I personally use my D60 for all my shots, not all photos here on this blog are from that camera! This is because my parents use a Canon point and shoot, my fiancee uses a Lumix, and a lot of my other friends use various cameras and the photos I post here are a mix of all of our shots! Why do they all look sort-of the same, you ask? I post-process them all!

So yes, to answer another question, I post-process my pictures to make the colors pop out more! I know some people brag about not post-processing their photos, and well, that’s them. Post-processing is one of my favorite parts and one of my favorite thing to do! Not ashamed to say it! :)

Reblogging this from my travel blog because I got around 5 questions last week asking about this in my Tumblr Ask inbox. :)

On Harry Potter, my art style and wedding preps!

Thank you so much for being so sweet! Thanks for being happy about my engagement! Heehee! And of course, I love my followers! Seriously, won’t be here posting still if it weren’t for you guys so I’m really very grateful! Anyway, I think I’ll post more Harry Potter fanart in the next few days. People seem to love it haha! Thanks again! You’re so nice! :)

What style of drawing… Sheena-style drawing? Haha. You can’t really put a “name” on the style because I have a lot of influences and I just mixed them all up together to create my own style. I practiced a lot, discovered techniques and there you have it. No one taught me how to draw this way. If you want to learn how to draw, like I always say here in my blog, just practice, practice and practice! There are no rules, there is no formula. No step 1, step 2 and step 3. Like everything else in life, if it is your passion, you will work hard for it. So discover your own personal style. :)

Almost done with booking all my suppliers! I’m trying my best to finish as much as I can before I leave for Vegas/LA! It’s been a bit stressful (sadly, some suppliers can be a pain…) but also so much fun (thankfully, some suppliers are wonderful and extremely talented!) Been meeting a lot of new people and it’s been awesome! Thanks for asking!

Most questions are answered in my FAQs. Please read them before you ask since a lot of them get repeated. :) For everything else, ask away! Sometimes I answer them in your personal ask or I post them here!

I don’t normally post ask questions on my blog because I don’t want to spam people’s dash (so I answer the questions individually) but I just HAD to post this because this has got to be one of the most (if not THE most) enthusiastic ask question I’ve ever gotten! Haha! ♥
Hey Maiqui! I am very very happy and honored that God was able use my life to inspire you. Everything I have right now is really all by God’s grace. I want to encourage you to keep on doing what you love. As long as God is the center of everything and if it is His will, He will make sure you succeed. Remember that “…in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
The Lord has truly been amazing to me and I know it’s not because of anything I’ve done nor is it because of who I am, but it is all because of who He is and what He has done. The Lord is faithful; He has been faithful to me and He will also be faithful to you.
Just a side note. Remember also that to “honor your father and mother” is the first commandment with a promise. (Ephesians 6:2) This is one of the greatest lessons that God has taught me in the three years that I have been His follower. And when God promises something, He delivers!
Love God, follow His ways, and everything will fall into place. I pray that God will bless you with the desires of your heart. Take care! :)

I joined the CCF Holy Land Tour. CCF (Christ Commission Fellowship) is where I attend church and they organize a tour every summer. About “touching” the Red Sea, there’s nothing special about it actually. If you’re thinking about the sea Moses parted, the actual location is still being argued on (google it up). The sea they call Red Sea right now is just a regular sea (I got to ‘touch’ it at the beach of one of our hotels at Jordan, hehe). The Dead Sea is what you should be getting all excited about! I blogged about my Dead Sea experience here. Enjoy! Hope you get to visit soon! ♥

Building tents using blankets, playing my Jumanji boardgame with friends inside said tents (and pretending we actually heard animal sounds downstairs), talking to my stuffed bears as though they were real, building fortresses using the pillows on our living room sofa, playing buy and sell with my brothers (we were business-minded early on), waiting for 4pm so I could start playing outside with my neighbors and drinking a cold glass of iced tea after. I miss my childhood. ♥

I almost always use Photoshop only, but I’ve recently learned how to use Illustrator so I also use that sometimes for work. But not so much. Photoshop is so much more fun. Hehe. This is *sort of* answered in my FAQs. :) Also, glad you love the new website!
No idea. I’ve always loved drawing. There was a point in my life when I stopped drawing because I thought I was no good at it. But then I decided to try again and I tried again and I practiced harder and harder and ta-da! I’m still practicing up to this day!
Would love to read travel e-books! Send them at hello@sheenalovessunsets.com Thank you!
To list them all down (with my impressions) would make for a really long post! Haha! And by impression do you mean, first impression when I got there, or the overall impression it left on me after my visit?
Ask Sheena a question here | Read my FAQs here
PS. Sorry I don’t answer all questions (esp if I answered them in my FAQs already)! Hope you understand! I really don’t want to fill my blog up with so much Q&As! Hehe *u* Thank you!
